internship program

Our Mission
At DDD, the primary goal of our internship program is to provide advanced-level students with an opportunity to experience career objectives in a real-world environment. Our program enables students to enrich their academic backgrounds by offering a place to learn outside of the typical academic surroundings.

Who's Eligible
DDD accepts interns
specializing in Graphic Design and Marketing. The primary goal of this internship is for the student gain a broader understanding of career options in the marketing field. Potential candidates should aspire to serve an internship for the purpose of self-fulfillment, not just to fill an academic requirement. DDD recruits interns indiscriminately from qualified colleges, universities and art programs throughout the United States. We seek out motivated individuals who have a desire to learn in a studio environment. DDD is comprised of a close-knit group of professionals who enjoy working in a relaxed atmosphere. Interns will be exposed to several different marketing arenas including: media placement, print and interactive design, research, sales, advertising campaigns, print production, and promotional events. Before an internship with DDD is awarded, students are required to submit a résumé, and if necessary, show samples of their work. Students are required to interview with one or more senior level employees of DDD. Students are also required to formally submit the internship requirements of his or her school program. Internships are then awarded on the basis of merit and internal needs. Internships are not necessarily awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Requirements
Due to the nature of a student's schedule, DDD strives to offer flexible hours to it's interns. However, we do strictly enforce the hourly requirements stipulated by the student's internship program at school. Interns must follow basic office procedures, dress appropriately and conduct themselves professionally. All these issues will be specifically addressed during the interns orientation program. Depending on the intern's emphasis, he or she will report directly to the supervisor in the appropriate department. Open communication is encouraged; weekly reviews are required. Interns are also required to keep a time sheet specifically designating how the time at work was spent. This aids supervisors in evaluating the student's work and helps them in providing time allotment for future projects. Any concerns (i.e. health, special needs, vacation time, etc.) are addressed before the commencement of the student's internship. DDD will make every effort to ensure that our interns learn in a comfortable environment that allows for open communication and contribution to our daily activities. Finally, DDD understands that each educational institution has specific requirements for its interns. If all necessary requirements are submitted to DDD prior to the internship, we will agree to follow through with our end of the deal - which may include student evaluations, reference letters or project assignments. DDD expects that the interns to respect the arrangements made prior to acceptance into our program.

Compensation
As a general rule, DDD does not pay its interns for the time spent at our office. We believe that the experience the student gains while at DDD far surpasses any monetary value. However, many interns may receive a "surprise" compensation based on their individual contributions to DDD. Interns are often paid to run errands and make deliveries (if they so choose). And, for their efforts, interns are often offered tickets to local events, gift certificates or other means of compensation. DDD will not, however, commit to any compensation for students serving internships.

Summary
DDD is dedicated to providing interns with an opportunity to experience career objectives in a real-world setting. We strive to offer students a comfortable environment in which they can learn, contribute and grow. We aim to arm them with an abundant knowledge of the marketing sector of business. And finally, we look to build relationships with students that span far beyond the internship experience at DDD.
